I have grown up with snow every winter. Since turning 16 I have never not gone somewhere because of the snow. My car may be wheel-rear drive, but my dad, being a tire man, always made sure I had four studded snow tires. I could go anywhere, and never got stuck. Growing up I never had a real snow day, they occurred in May.
Living in Virginia is much different. The cities aren’t as prepared for snow. Studded snow tires are illegal, and automobile repair shops suggest not even putting on regular snow tires. Why? Because when it snows everything gets cancelled and everybody stays home.
Today that is exactly what
happened. My first official SNOW DAY! My practicum got cancelled, I didn’t have
work, Chad’s classes got cancelled, and the public libraries are even closed. It is
such a weird feeling! But its been a really nice relaxing day and it has given
me some free time I would not have had otherwise. So I’ve FINALLY caught up on
my blog posts! At least some of them J
