Myrtle Beach Trip

Chad is officially done with his first year of law school! Woohoo!! I cannot believe it, it feels like it just began. Chad has worked very hard this past year. I have been so impressed with his dedication and work ethic. To celebrate surviving his first year we headed down to Myrtle Beach South Carolina!

We spent a lot of time on the beach: walking, body surfing, searching for shells, playing football, frisbee, and paddle ball, and relaxing.

If anybody has ever been to Myrtle Beach they'll know that it has mini-golf courses EVERYWHERE! I've never seen so many in my life. It felt like there was a course on every block. The courses are all legitimate and huge. Throughout dating and our marriage we have played a lot of mini-golf. When we first started Chad always dominated. However, my skills have improved and now it is always a very close game. We chose to put-put at "Mount Atlanticus," which has two 18-hole courses. It was a lot of fun, and definitely the biggest and coolest mini-golf course I have ever been to.

While we were there we also explored the board walk and enjoyed all the activities. Two of our favorites were The Sky Wheel and The Gay Dolphin Gift Cove. The Sky Wheel is a 187-foot ferris wheel on the board walk. From the top you can see up and down the coast for miles. The view was fantastic and even though I was a little nervous sitting at the top, it was worth it. The Gay Dolphin is a gift shop that has been open since 1946. It has all sorts of knick-knacks and patty-whacks inside. It has the largest shell collection I have ever seen!

While we were there Chad wanted to eat a fresh catch of the day. Along the board walk we couldn't find a restaurant that look appetizing. We traveled up the coast a little ways to Barefoot Landing and enjoyed a nice dinner at Flying Fish Public Market and Grill. This restaurant was amazing, definitely 5 stars worthy! Chad had sword fish and I had red snapper. I'm not a fish person, but my meal was delicious!! I told Chad he shouldn't have introduced me to good fish, because now I'm going to want it all the time.

Our beach trip was amazing. It was so much fun and great to be able to have a week without school and work. In fact being at the beach was so great that we are planning on going to Virginia Beach in a couple of days. Woohoo for summer time!
